My Poor Rug

The corner of my Wenger rug has come unstitched (I'm sure with the help of some little fingers)!  The rug itself is still in really good condition, it's just this corner that needs to be fixed.  While I am very creative, I'm stumped on this one.  Sewing is not my strength.  I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix my rug because it is such a great resource and I would hate for the damage to get worse.

  1. I am sorry - I hate that kind of stuff! I do not have any ideas.

A student of mine pulled up a 3-foot section of carpet right in the middle of my room last year. While I watched. While I was telling him to stop. Nothing could be done. They replaced the whole room of carpet last summer. Put the seams in places the kids wouldn't be able to mess with them.

    1. Wow! Kids are destructive little things aren't they? I think what prompted this rip was one of my little friends who is very tactile. I remember he sat in that spot last year and no matter how often I redirected him, he couldn't keep his hands off that corner. I even moved his spot on the rug but through out the lesson his little body would wiggle over to that same place. :)

I also put out an email to my parent community hoping that I may have a parent in the business or with the knowledge of how to repair rugs.

  2. Why not see what the Wenger company has to say about it?!! Nothing lasts forever, but maybe they have seen problems like this with other customers...

    1. Hmmmm....that's a good idea. I'll have to call them on Tuesday. Fingers crossed.

  3. Just a thought, why don’t you try calling someone who knows how to repair rugs? Tell them about your rug’s situation and maybe they could find a solution for this problem. The unstitched part is little but we don't want to do more damage to your carpet.
